URLColors

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 31, 2026

This policy covers the URLColors browser extension for Chrome, Firefox and Safari. We understand the importance of privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains what information the extension handles and how.

1. Information we collect

URLColors does not collect or store any personal information. You enter your URL rules — the sites you want a colored border around, the colors, the opacity and the width of the border — and this information is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

2. Use of information

Because we do not collect any personal information, there is no use of such information on our part. To draw a border, the extension reads the address of the page you are viewing and compares it against your rules on your own device. That address is never sent anywhere.

3. Local storage of information

All preferences and settings you enter are stored locally in your browser's extension storage. This includes your URL rules, colors, opacity, border width and settings such as snooze and iframe matching. We do not have access to this information, and it remains within your control at all times.

4. No network requests, analytics or tracking

The extension makes no network requests and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. The source code is public, so you can check this yourself.

5. Protection of your information

As we do not collect or store any personal information, your privacy is inherently protected. We encourage you to be mindful of the information you enter into the extension and to keep your device secure to protect your local data.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page, and they are effective when posted. Please review it periodically.
